Our History
Cross Border Translation was founded in March 2008 by Joel van Valkenhoef, who registered the company as a sole trader-translator with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. Beginning as a translator, Joel soon expanded his operations by outsourcing to freelancers, initially engaging translators and editors, and later adding project managers to the team. This structure evolved over the years to include multiple project managers and language specialists worldwide.
In August 2023, Cross Border Translation Ltd was established as a UK-based translation agency. Today, this company translates into over 50 languages, utilizing advanced translation and project management software to enhance customer service.
Over time, Cross Border Translation has transformed from a primarily Dutch agency into a global enterprise, serving clients worldwide. While still operating on a relatively small scale, the focus remains on global expansion through ISO certification and the integration of new technologies.
